Just Talking About Cars 0003: 2016 Scion iA You don't have to press us to hard to find that we are actually a sucker for strange automotive tie-ups. Take an otherwise ho-hum vehicle from one manufacture and plop it into another's lineup with a just a wee bit of a facelift and what do you know, the automotive press stands up and takes notice. Why? Well, we're suckers for anything but mainstream and we live for the random car question on trivia night! Take the Scion iA for instance. Shape look familiar? It should. Cause behind that garish schnoz is none other than a Mazda2 sedan. Mazda had no plans for importing the little sedan here to the states and Scion was looking to plug a gap in the lineup. Thus was born the iA. The real question: does the iA do its Mazda lineage proud with sporting pretensions in the go-quick handling department? You'll have to watch to find out. PS. The Mazda 2 is a subcompact/supermini (B-segment) car, which has been available as a 4-door sedan and a 5 door hatchback manufactured and marketed by Mazda since 2002, currently in its third generation.
