Ferrari Dino 246 GTS | Ferrari 330 GTC | Original Survivors | My Classic Car | Colorado Springs
On this episode of My Classic Car, Dennis makes his way to Colorado Springs, CO to check out a couple of Ferraris. We fire up a 1973 Dino Ferrari 246 GTS and a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC. Not normally known as a "family car", these were indeed the family cars of David Donner. Routinely used, these are unrestored survivors. Truly a step back in time. Or a sprint. Starting off with the 330 GTC, it was purchased new in '67. Such a beautiful design, as are most Ferraris, and the elegance stood the test of time. Factory paint still in wonderful condition, interior all original and maintained, but used. Broken into like a comfortable Italian shoe. Before cars became angular, this is still beautifully rounded. Attractive from all angles and so well mannered. It's really a driver's car. Stepping up a notch in both perceived and actual performance, the lines of the Dino GT belies the Ferrari race heritage. Like bringing a piece of LeMans home with you. It's a dream car for sure. This one came with the "Chairs and Flares", 1 of 90 aftermarket option packages that enhances the look and comfort. Again in silver, it shows off the distinguished lines so well. What it doesn't show off is the Ferrari name. Badged "Dino" everywhere, it was created in memory of Mr. Ferrari's son. There's also the Fiat link to Ferrari again here, Fiat having built the motors that Ferrari designed. And as with a lot of Ferrari designs, it was way ahead of it's time. The flow, the rear window, and the chopped of rear end with Daytona lights evokes the feel of a Ferrari race car, as does the mid-engine design. It's not every day you get to drive a Ferrari. On this day, Dennis got to drive two. Lucky guy. 0:00 - Intro 0:49 - 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC 5:41 - 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC Drive 8:12 - 1973 Dino Ferrari GTS 13:12 - 1973 Dino Ferrari GTS Drive #Ferrari #Dino #246 #GTS #GT #330 #GTC #Colorado Springs #ChairsandFlares #Survivor S16E12
