MG Owners Club Championship | Qualifying | Donington Park National 2025

MG Cars
2020s2025youtube

The regulations for the MG Owners’ Club race championship were put together in early 1981 by a bunch of like minded motorsport enthusiasts and closely followed the format of the Production based championships that were so popular at that time. The primary aim of the Championship was quite simple, to promote close racing at minimum cost, an aim which would be achieved by running standard production based cars in close to standard trim. The championship is for “production” based classic and modern MG’s with only limited performance modifications being allowed. The technical content of the regulations has hardly changed over the years thus ensuring continuity and therefore controlling preparation and maintenance costs. Trends change in motorsport but the MGOC championship will always retain its long held philosophy of running cars with carefully controlled modifications to ensure close racing and unrivaled value for money with the support of one of the world’s largest single make car clubs and the British Automobile Racing Club who are the UK’s largest organiser of motor racing events. The Championship appeals to competitors of all levels of age and experience. We pride ourselves that whilst the racing is always competitive the relationship amongst drivers is one of co-operation. Novice drivers are actively welcomed and are mentored through the entire process from initial enquiry through to arriving on the grid for a racing debut. The Class structure for the season is as follows: There are five classes: Classic Class - MGB, MGB GT, MG Midget, Austin Healey Sprite. Class B - MG ZS120, MG Maestro Efi, MG Montego Efi, MG Maestro 1600. Class F - MGF 1.8 VVC, MG TF. Class Z - MG ZR 160, MG ZS160. Class I - Invitation Class for MG cars not complying with MGOC Regulations. #mg #mgownersclub #mgownersclubchampionship #mgb #mgbmidget
