1938 Mercedes W154 "Record Car" inspired 16-Cylinder Streamliner C-16 | Startup, Sound, Drive
Streamliner C-16 – A recreation inspired by the 1938 Mercedes-Benz W154 Record Car („Rekordwagen“) with great sound (e.g. startup, racing) and design. Whereas the C-16 recreation design comes close to the Mercedes Rekordwagen, it is propelled by a inline 16-cylinder engine. The straight 16 engine originates from 2 straight 8 Buick engines that were assembled inline. The 1938 Mercedes W154 Rekordwagen streamliner, however, was powered by a potent V12 engine. As part of the second edition of the international St. Moritz Automobile Week, a speed race with vehicles of all kinds was held on the runway of Samedan Airport (Grisons, Switzerland). Among them was, for example, the above-mentioned Swedish "Streamliner C-16". #classiccars #hotrod #customcars
