1962 Mercedes Benz 220b Dolly Awakens
The original owner went on to Heaven in 1984. His son kept the car in the garage and started it occasionally. The date on the battery is 2011 and holds charge well. The oil is clean and looks golden like honey. The valve train metal looks bright and clean like new. I turned the crank easily by hand while feeling good compression. Then I unplugged the main distributor wire and turned the engine with starter motor. Seeing correct oil pressure gave me confidence to reconnect the distributor and crank it up. I cleaned out the fuel tank and put fresh gasoline in. The engine started up. I have the air cleaner off which adds the sound of carburetor sucking air.
