Castrol Toyota FR Oceania Championship: Round 1 Highlights from Highlands Motorsport Park 2023

Highlights action from the opening round of the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship held at Highlands Motorsport Park, Cromwell, New Zealand. Kiwi sensation Callum Hedge maintained his testing pace to take an impressive pole position in Qualifying, eventually converting the win for the opening race of the season. Hedge continued his form into the second Qualifying session for the main feature race, again topping the times. The grid for the second race on Sunday was a reverse top eight of the finishers in Saturday’s race - it was former New Zealand Formula Ford champion James Penrose on pole position with impressive Australian rookie Ryder Quinn alongside on the front row, Penrose eventually taking the win in style. American David Morales turned the tables on weekend pace setter Callum Hedge with a fantastic lights to flag victory in the feature race.
