Though not very influential, the Aerocar was created by a business partner of Henry Ford. The company was short-lived, and the structure was later utilized by the Hudson Motor Car Company, one of the most influential car companies of its day. After Hudson left for Jefferson Avenue, the plant on Mack Avenue was used for various businesses and is currently for sale. About Hudson Motor Car Company
The Hudson Motor Car Company made Hudson and other branded automobiles in Detroit, Michigan, U.S., from 1909 until 1954. In 1954, Hudson merged with Nash-Kelvinator to form American Motors Corporation (AMC). The Hudson name was continued through the 1957 model year, after which it was discontinued.
