The AE86 is Actually a Flawed Drift Car 🚗💨

The AE86 is actually a Flawed Drift Car Let me explain. Its status is legendary in drift culture thanks to Initial D and Keiichi Tsuchiya, the Drift King. But in reality, it had plenty of drawbacks. For starters, its mere 128 horsepower engine struggled to keep the rear wheels spinning. Drivers had to push it to the absolute limit to hold a drift. The AE86 relied heavily on momentum drifting — you had to enter corners at high speed and keep it sideways, because it simply didn’t have the power to accelerate mid-drift. It also had a short wheelbase causing it to rotate quickly and a solid rear axle meaning wheels could not move independently. This made handling twitchy and unstable. So why did it become a legend? Not because it was the best drift car, but because it demanded skill and mastery. Conquering the AE86 was a badge of honor for drifters. 👉 What’s the best drift car in your opinion? #ae86 #drift #drifting #racing #shorts

About Wheelbase

In both road and rail vehicles, the wheelbase is the horizontal distance between the centers of the front and rear wheels. For road vehicles with more than two axles, the wheelbase is the distance between the steering (front) axle and the centerpoint of the driving axle group. In the case of a tri-axle truck or bus, the wheelbase would be the distance between the steering axle and a point midway between the two rear axles.
