Getting on track! e30 Track Day Preparation, Part 1

Me and a friend have been putting this m30-powered e30 together for several years now, and are nearly ready to get it on track for its 1st event. There are still a lot of concerns to be addressed (many of which were caused by us not knowing what we were doing at the time).
