I've spotted this outstanding Bertone X1/9 at the "7th Italian Car Meeting" event in Erbach (Odenwald) (around the Sportpark Erbach area close to the Obere Marktstraße). Enjoy the amazing engine sound in this video. Thumbs up, Comment and Subscription is always welcome - it's free. More from this event is coming soon. Information about the car: This two-seater mid-engined sports car was designed by Bertone and manufactured from 1972 to 1982 by FIAT and from 1972 to 1989 by Gruppo Bertone. Production numbers were approx. 160,000 units (approx. 140,500 as FIAT X1/9 and additional approx. 19,500 as Bertone X1/9). From 1972 to 1978 it had a 1,290 ccm engine (55 kW, 75 PS, 74 hp) with a 4 speed manual transmission - while from 1978 to 1989 it had a 1,498 ccm engine (EU: 63 kW, 85 PS, 84 hp / US: 56 kW, 76 PS, 74 hp) with a 5 speed manual transmission. In 1982 FIAT decided to stop the production for this car but Bertone was still seeing a market for this car in the USA. Due to the fact 75 % of this car were sold to the United States of America so Bertone was building the car for some more years - distributed by FIAT dealerships. So this makes this car a true success of Fiat and Bertone. A car, or an automobile, is a motor vehicle with wheels. Most definitions of cars state that they run primarily on roads, seat 1-8 people, have four wheels, and mainly transport people rather than cargo. There are over 1.6 billion cars in use worldwide as of 2025. The French inventor Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot built the first steam-powered road vehicle in 1769, while the Swiss inventor François Isaac de Rivaz designed and constructed the first internal combustion-powered automobile in 1808. The mode...
