It's been almost 20 years but Graeme has not forgotten the BMW Z8.... The Z8 was originally conceived as a concept to celebrate the iconic 507. It was such a hit when it was shown, BMW brought it to market. When I did the original test in California it was a head-turner that literally stopped traffic — one guy actually followed me for almost 25-km just to find out what it was and where he could get one. The full Test Drive did exactly the same thing — it became a magnet that attracted more onlookers than any car before or after it. Only around 6,000 hit the road worldwide and so in spite of its relatively young age, it has already become a prized collectable. - Graeme #BMWZ8 #Throwback #MotoringTV Elon Musk Agrees With Jim?! The BMW Z8 is a roadster produced by German automotive manufacturer BMW from 1998 to 2003. The Z8 was developed under the codename "E52" between 1993 and 1999, through the efforts of a design team led by Chris Bangle from 1993 to 1995. The exterior was designed by Henrik Fisker and the interior by Scott Lempert. The Z8 originally was designed as a styling exercise intended to evoke and celebrate the 1956–1959 BMW 507. Prototypes were spotted testing between 1996 and 1999.
